Summary: Enthrone Initiatives Inc. collects only the information necessary to process your donation, provide donor services, and communicate with you about our programs. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. Your donor data is never used for commercial marketing purposes unrelated to Enthrone.

1. Information We Collect

We collect personal information in the following circumstances:

Donation information: When you donate, we collect your name, email address, donation amount, payment method details (processed securely by Stripe; we do not store card numbers), donation designation, and whether you chose to donate anonymously.

Account information: If you create a donor account, we collect your email address, name, country of residence, and communication preferences. Passwords are never stored in plain text.

Contact form submissions: Name, email address, subject, and message content.

Newsletter subscriptions: Email address and subscription preferences.

Automatically collected information: When you visit our website, we may collect IP address (hashed/anonymized), browser type, pages visited, and referral source for analytics purposes only. We do not use persistent cross-site tracking cookies.

Volunteer and partner inquiries: Name, email, organization, skills, and message.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process and acknowledge your donation
  • Send you a donation receipt and tax acknowledgment
  • Maintain your donor account and donation history
  • Send program updates and newsletters (only if you have opted in)
  • Respond to your inquiries and support requests
  • Comply with legal obligations, including IRS reporting requirements
  • Prevent fraud and ensure the security of our systems
  • Improve our website and donor experience

We will never use your information to send you marketing communications from third parties or sell your data for commercial purposes.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers: We use trusted third-party services to operate our platform: Stripe (payment processing), Resend/email providers (transactional email), Vercel (hosting), and analytics tools. These providers are contractually bound to use your information only to provide services to Enthrone.

Legal requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Enthrone, our donors, or the public.

Organizational successors: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or dissolution of Enthrone Initiatives, donor information would be transferred to a successor organization, subject to the same privacy protections.

With your consent: We will share your information in any other circumstance only with your explicit consent.

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • TLS/SSL encryption for all data in transit
  • Stripe's PCI DSS-compliant payment infrastructure (we never store card data)
  • Password hashing using bcrypt
  • Access controls limiting staff access to personal data on a need-to-know basis
  • Regular security reviews of our infrastructure

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.

7. Donor Privacy Rights

As a donor, you have the following additional rights:

  • To remain anonymous, your name will not appear in any public acknowledgment without your explicit consent
  • To opt out of donor recognition lists, publications, and acknowledgment mentions
  • To request that we not contact you for future fundraising solicitations
  • To receive a copy of your full donation history
  • To review information we hold about your giving preferences

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies required to operate our website (session management, security). We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. We may use privacy-respecting analytics (such as Plausible or similar) that do not use cookies and do not collect personally identifiable information.

You may configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may affect the functionality of certain features such as account login.

9. Children's Privacy

Our website and services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately atprivacy@enthroneinitiatives.org.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify donors by email. Continued use of our website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
