Benue & Plateau Emergency Relief Fund
Project Overview
Communities in Benue State (including areas of Otukpo LGA) and Plateau State (including Riyom and Barkin Ladi LGAs) have suffered repeated attacks that have destroyed homes and forced hundreds of families into displacement camps and temporary shelters. The Benue & Plateau Emergency Relief Fund provides direct, practical support to survivors: emergency shelter materials, food and clean water for displaced families, basic medical care and first aid for the wounded, and psychosocial support for bereaved households. Displacement compounds quickly. Families arrive at a camp having left with nothing, into sites where food, clean water, sanitation and medical care are already stretched by everyone who arrived before them. Crowded conditions without safe water or sanitation turn ordinary illness into an outbreak. Children are out of school for months. Households that were feeding themselves become entirely dependent on what reaches the camp. Relief is delivered through trusted local partners already operating in these communities. They know which families have arrived, what is genuinely short, and how to reach sites safely. That local knowledge is what separates supplies that reach the right households from supplies that simply arrive. We report what was delivered and where, rather than only what was raised. Donations open in August 2026. 100% of funds raised go directly to relief delivered on the ground through local partners.
